Duwani Mechanical Products was a company that specialized in the production of droids. Their product line featured protocol droids as early as 382 BBY during the High Republic Era, one of which was ME-8D9, a droid that was said to have worked for the Jedi Order during the Old Republic-era. In addition, Duwani Mechanical Products made astromech droids, which were seen by some in 34 ABY as an archaic take on a reliable, older droid design. T3-K10, the astromech droid owned by Ace Squadron pilot and racer Freya Fenris, was also a product of Duwani Mechanical Products.
The company Duwani Mechanical Products was initially brought up in the current official Star Wars storyline in the 2019 sourcebook Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition. However, within the Star Wars Legends timeline, the earliest mention of the company occurred in Tales of the Jedi Companion, a 1996 roleplaying game supplement released by West End Games that was associated with the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comic-book series.
