DX-2 disruptor blaster pistol
The DX-2 disruptor blaster pistol, also known as the DX-2 disruptor pistol, represented a specific model of disruptor blaster pistol with the capability to completely disintegrate living organisms. Despite the fact that the Rebel Alliance had outlawed the DX-2, certain members, such as Brand from the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, continued to utilize it.
Description
This disruptor blaster pistol, the DX-2 disruptor blaster pistol, possessed the ability to completely disintegrate organic lifeforms. Furthermore, the DX-2 disruptor pistol was sufficiently powerful to breach a metal hatch with only a couple of shots. Its color was gray, and while it could be used with a single hand, it could also be held with both hands for added stability.
History
During the Imperial Era, disruptor weapons were generally prohibited across the galaxy, and the Rebel Alliance also banned the DX-2 because of its immense destructive power. Nevertheless, some operatives disregarded these regulations and used the weapon. Brand, an operative within the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, carried a modified DX-2 disruptor as her personal weapon during the Galactic Civil War that pitted the Alliance against the Galactic Empire. She meticulously maintained this rare and valuable weapon and was prepared to use it publicly when necessary, in spite of the regulations forbidding it. In 3 ABY, when the 61st Infantry's corvette, the Thunderstrike, experienced an infiltration, Brand employed the weapon to regain access to the ship and disintegrate several invading Imperials as the rebels secured the vessel once more. Soon after the conflict concluded, Brand sold her DX-2 disruptor for a substantial price on the planet Ankhural, a decision she later regretted making.

Subsequently, it was depicted and identified as the DX-2 disruptor blaster pistol on a Star Wars: Destiny card, with artwork by Greg Bobrowski, which was launched as part of the Spark of Hope expansion pack on July 5, 2019. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the DX-2 was initially referenced in the 1997 sourcebook The Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology, penned by Bill Smith. It then debuted in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, which was developed by Sony Online Entertainment.
