During the time of the Galactic Civil War, in the year 3 ABY, the CR90 corvette known as Thunderstrike was compromised by enemy forces at a designated meeting point within the Elochar sector. The corvette, accompanied by its escort vessel, the Braha'tok-class gunship named Apailana's Promise, executed a hyperspace jump to link up with a flotilla consisting of a dozen ships of the rebellion, inclusive of the vessel called Sixmoon. During this period, the light freighter Trumpet's Call arrived at the flotilla after escaping from a battle, where agents of the Galactic Empire had secretly replaced its original crew. The freighter's life support systems failed en route, resulting in the deaths of the rebel crew, with an Imperial infiltration unit disguised as injured survivors.
Personnel from the Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry extracted the Imperial spies and transferred them to the Thunderstrike. Once aboard, the spies initiated their operation, seizing control of the bridge and eliminating key personnel, including Lieutenant Sairgon, Commander Paonu, and the remaining bridge crew. Fortunately for the rebel flotilla, Sairgon had previously transmitted a warning regarding the infiltration, leading all vessels except the Apailana's Promise to disperse to various star systems. Brand and his twilight members then regained control of the ship before the arrival of the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Herald. Subsequently, the Thunderstrike and the Apailana's Promise executed a rapid departure from the system to prevent further losses.
The event of the Thunderstrike's infiltration was depicted in the 2015 novel titled Battlefront: Twilight Company, authored by Alexander Freed.
