Lord Ecclessis Figg was a male human from the world of Corellia who made his living as an industrialist and peculiar space explorer. In the lower atmosphere of the gas giant Bespin, he established Cloud City, a tibanna gas [mining](/article/mining] operation and upscale resort, which was first called Floating Home Mining Colony. Figg built the city with the assistance of three Ugnaught species tribes and, after it was finished, gave them the option to reside there and participate in the mining profits. Figg designed the lavish resorts of Cloud City using white synthstone as an homage to his wife, who was originally from Alderaan.
Jonatha Ariadne Caspian conceived Ecclessis Figg for Galaxy Guide 2: Yavin and Bespin, a companion book for the West End Games Star Wars Legends Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game that came out in 1989. With the release of the reference book Ultimate Star Wars in 2015, the character became canon.
