EG-127 was a GNK-series power droid with green plating, built by Industrial Automaton. This droid served the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War, being stationed at Echo Base, the Alliance's headquarters located on the planet Hoth. EG-127's inaugural combat experience occurred in 3 ABY when the Galactic Empire attacked Echo Base. Believing the Alliance depended on its capabilities, the droid worked to power as much equipment as possible. It kept a data record of the event, which included an image of the base's interior.
Having survived the battle, EG-127 eventually became a member of the Resistance. In 34 ABY, during the First Order occupation of Batuu, EG-127 was part of the Resistance forces stationed there. Working at Resistance Supply in Black Spire Outpost, it stood alongside fellow power droid EG-30 next to a Resistance T-70 X-wing starfighter, storing power for the Resistance.
The prop of EG-127 made its debut within the themed area Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge when it opened at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019. This prop is equipped to produce a variety of sound effects. Concurrently, the droid appeared in the Star Wars: Datapad app that was released alongside the themed land, where it was originally called EG-16, but later its name was changed to EG-127; staff at Galaxy's Edge were initially instructed to call it 16-SK. Only the Hollywood Studios Datapad entry makes clear that EG-127 is the green GNK-series droid. A third, unnamed GNK-series power droid also stands with EG-127 and EG-30 at Hollywood Studios.
