Ferdoin was a male Human who served the Republic Military during the period known as the Cold War, a tense time with the opposing Sith Empire. After a five-year deployment on Taris, he abandoned his post, managing to flee with the assistance of a traveling heroic figure.
Ferdoin, a Republic trooper during the Cold War, was stationed on Taris from 3648 BBY until 3643 BBY, at which point he made the decision to desert his post. Positioned at Waypoint Station Draay, Ferdoin was among the many soldiers who had been serving on the planet for five years, despite the initial assignment being only for one year. The constant threat of attacks from rakghouls, pirates, and scavengers had eroded the morale of Ferdoin and his comrades, leading them to finally give up.
Around 3643 BBY, Ferdoin was part of the regular supply convoy that traveled from Waypoint Station Draay to Waypoint Station Cresh located to the west. During one of these supply runs, he, along with Gilroh, Geozel, and the rest of the convoy members, resolved to desert, leaving Morne without its much-needed supplies as they sought refuge in the wilderness.
Kahrin Wek, the quartermaster at Draay, became increasingly concerned when Morne failed to respond to communications. Consequently, she requested that a Republic-aligned individual, who had previously aided her in exposing the corruption of her superior Commander Gardit, investigate the situation. The hero located the missing convoy and, after hearing their story, chose to allow them to escape. To ensure their safety, the hero informed Ferdoin's superior Commander Yajak that the convoy's bodies had been discovered in the wilds.
Ferdoin's character was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that was launched by BioWare on December 20, 2011. He is featured in the Taris mission titled "AWOL", as one of the troopers who attempted to desert their posts. The player has the option to either allow the troopers to desert, which is the light side choice, or compel them to return to duty, which is the dark side choice.
