Fermic, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet dedicated to manufacturing and contained numerous factories. Despite the pollution generated by its numerous fuel refineries and other industrial sites, its type I atmosphere was still breathable for both humans and the avian porgs.
During the conflict between the First Order and the Resistance in 34 ABY, several months following the Battle of Crait, Resistance members Poe Dameron, Rey, and Rose Tico made a stop on Fermic. This visit marked the conclusion of their supply-gathering trip around the Outer Rim. At Fermic, they loaded several cargo containers onto the freighter known as the Millennium Falcon, and then departed to respond to a distress signal originating from the planet Minfar. At the time of this visit by the Resistance, Fermic had not yet been affected by the First Order's conquest of the galaxy.
Spark of the Resistance, a young adult novel authored by Justina Ireland and released in 2019, featured Fermic.
