Time travel

The concept of time travel refers to moving through time to different points, whether that be earlier eras or future ones. Despite the yearning of some individuals to revisit their past and correct errors, the feasibility of such an act was largely considered impossible, even at the peak of the New Republic's power. A theoretical device designed to enable this was called a time machine.

The World Between Worlds The World Between Worlds, with its numerous doors and pathways leading to the past, present, and future, provided a means for time travel. However, this mystical realm of the Force remained largely unknown, and only a select few Force-sensitive individuals could access it. In 0 BBY, Ezra Bridger, a Jedi Padawan, entered the World Between Worlds through a portal located in the Lothal Jedi Temple. He intervened in the mission to Malachor, which had transpired three years prior, by pulling Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi, through a portal, saving her from Darth Vader's fatal blow. While there, Bridger briefly considered rescuing his master, Kanan Jarrus, who had died during the rescue of Hera Syndulla, by extracting him via a portal. However, Tano dissuaded him, explaining that saving Jarrus would result in the deaths of all the other Spectres present, including Bridger himself, in the Imperial gas refinery explosion, creating a paradox. After being attacked by Darth Sidious, Bridger and Tano exited through the same portals they had used to enter, reappearing on Lothal and Malachor respectively, separated by a three-year gap.

When Luke Skywalker was asked by C-3PO about how the droid could assist him, he quipped that C-3PO could manipulate time to fast-forward past the harvest season, allowing Luke to enroll in the Imperial Academy.
