Fillithar were a sentient species of serpent-like beings from their homeworld, which has the same name. Possessing no hind legs, these snake-like creatures had a tail that was capable of grasping. During the age of the High Republic Era, the Fillithar Jedi Master known as Simmix was responsible for training the Padawan named Cohmac Vitus. In the period around 3 BBY, a male Fillithar whose name was Sssamm Ashsssen held a position within the Apprentice Legislature together with Leia Organa. Two decades after the establishment of the New Republic, the Fillithar had representation in the Galactic Senate. At approximately the same time as the event known as the Napkin Bombing, their senator aligned themselves with the Populist political group.
