Finger cakes were a diminutive form of cake that the Evereni species could edible. No sooner than 379 BBY, a celebration occurred aboard the Gaze Electric, a starship owned by Marda Ro—the Evereni who initiated a band of marauders that ultimately evolved into the Nihil. For this event, a being in Ro's service prepared finger cakes, topping them with powdered palm sugar. During the feast, Vika Faer, an Evereni residing with Ro's raiders, approached Ro and sat down with her, presenting her with a small dish of finger cakes. Ro selected a finger cake and consumed it slowly during their conversation.
Subsequently, Ro made reference to the finger cakes in a recording intended for her descendants. By 252 BBY, Marchion Ro, her great-great-grandson, had heard her recorded memories during his younger years, which contained the segment mentioning finger cakes.
These finger cakes were shown in a past memory within the short story "A Closed Fist Has No Claws," penned by Tessa Gratton. It was released in the 2023 young-adult collection titled The High Republic: Tales of Light and Life, as part of the wider narrative of Star Wars: The High Republic.
