Firebird Squadron was a group of starfighter pilots, specifically a squadron, serving under the Republic Defense Coalition throughout the High Republic Era. This squadron operated from the Starlight Beacon space station and utilized Z-29 Skyhawks as their primary vehicles. During the Battle of Galov, Firebird Squadron was launched from the Longbeam cruiser known as the Aurora IX to fight against the forces commanded by Nihil Tempest Runner Lourna Dee, with Firebird Leader Errington leading the charge. A number of the squadron's pilots, including Firebird Leader Errington, Firebird Four Jano Brayson, Firebird Two [Teff], and "Firebird Three", boarded Dee's starship, the Lourna Dee, but Jano was the only one to make it out alive.
