A communications tower was situated on the celestial body known as Foerost. The Drabatan named Paodok'Draba'Takat Sap'De'Rekti Nik'Linke'Ti' Ki'Vef'Nik'NeSevef'Li'Kek successfully executed a mission for the Alliance to Restore the Republic by obliterating the communications tower around 1 BBY.
Around the time of 1 BBY, following the arrival of the rebel unit Rogue One on the planet Scarif, Bodhi Rook, an Imperial pilot who turned rebel, identified the Citadel Tower. He emphasized that all communications entering and exiting the base – which they intended to infiltrate – were routed through it. Captain Cassian Andor had a faint recollection of Pao's demolition task to destroy the tower on Foerost—noting the similarity to the one on Scarif—and resolved to inquire with the Drabatan about it.
The communications tower on Foerost was initially referenced in the novelization of the Anthology Series film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which was penned by Alexander Freed and released in 2016.
