Foerost

Foerost, a celestial body, served as the battleground for the Battle of Foerost. Tabor Seitaron, who would later become an Imperial officer after serving the Republic, participated in this conflict. A transportation service operated between this astronomical body and the planet Coruscant around 5 BBY. At a later time, Pao, a Drabatan, undertook his initial mission for the Rebel Alliance on Foerost.

History

Coruscant Eastern Spaceport (pictured) ran a service to Foerost.

Around 5 BBY, Foerost, a terrestrial astronomical object, was the location of the Battle of Foerost. Tabor Seitaron, then an officer in the Galactic Republic and later in its successor, the Galactic Empire, considered his involvement in this battle a career highlight. In 5 BBY, a travel service was scheduled to commence from Coruscant Eastern Spaceport on the planet Coruscant to Foerost on the day that Syril Karn, a disgraced lawman from the Corporate Authority, arrived at that spaceport from the planet Morlana One.

The Drabatan named Pao undertook a demolitions job on Foerost, marking his initial known endeavor with the Rebel Alliance. This mission, which occurred sometime by 1 BBY, involved destroying Foerost's communications tower. Captain Cassian Andor, a rebel, recalled this undertaking shortly before the Battle of Scarif in that year, where the captain's team executed a similar operation. Andor considered discussing the job with Pao before the mission commenced. In 3 ABY, Prelate Verge summoned Captain Seitaron aboard the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Herald. Upon the captain's arrival, an Imperial ensign showed him around the Star Destroyer and remarked that the Herald's ten percent increase in effectiveness would have been beneficial during the Battle of Foerost.

Locations

During the time of the Empire, a communications tower was situated on Foerost.

Behind the scenes

Foerost was first presented in the new Star Wars canon through a mention of the Battle of Foerost in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, authored by Alexander Freed. Subsequently, it was initially described as an astronomical object in Freed's 2016 novelization of the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Within the Star Wars Legends continuity, the planet Foerost originally made an appearance in the first issue of the Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi – The Sith War comic-book miniseries. Kevin J. Anderson wrote the issue, Dario Carrasco, Jr. illustrated it, and Dark Horse Comics released it on August 15, 1995.
