Lazu Lirona's profession was that of a fringer.
Fringers represented a specific group of people. They historically distanced themselves from galactic politics and aligned with pirates, smugglers, and other less savory characters, as they believed authority posed a threat to their liberty for a considerable time. During the New Republic Era, these fringers operated under the assumption that the New Republic had limited ability to enforce laws within individual intraplanetary systems. This perception underwent a significant shift with the ascent of the First Order. In 35 ABY, numerous fringers, including Lazu Lirona, took part in the Battle of Exegol. This conflict led to the ultimate death of Darth Sidious and the collapse of both his First Order and Final Order regimes.
The group known as Fringers were initially presented in a canonical way in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker. This film, directed by J.J. Abrams, served as the ninth installment in the overall Star Wars saga and was initially shown on December 20, 2019. The term itself initially appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo, which was published during the same year.
