Galactic Courts of Justice

During the time of the Galactic Republic's reign, the Galactic Courts of Justice, a gray structure, stood in the Federal District of Galactic City. This ecumenopolis encompassed the entire planet Coruscant. The building's apex featured a prominent central spire, encircled by four smaller spires, rising above Level 5127, which marked the highest point of the city during the Naboo Crisis in 32 BBY. The courts were situated a few blocks from the Diplomat Hotel, and the City Municipal Authorities Building was also in the vicinity.

Behind the scenes

Within current Star Wars canon, the Galactic Courts of Justice received a mention in reprinted content found within the 2016 reference book, Star Wars: Complete Locations. Conversely, in Star Wars Legends, the courts originally debuted as the "Imperial Justice Court" in Michael A. Stackpole's 1996 novel, X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble. Subsequently, the courts were visually depicted and identified by their Galactic Courts of Justice name in the 2000 reference book, Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Episode I, authored by Kristin Lund and illustrated by Richard Chasemore and Hans Jenssen. The material in Complete Locations was a reprint of this earlier work.
