Counselor Gallius Rax of the Empire proclaimed to his assembled troops that the Battle of Jakku would determine the destiny of the Galactic Empire.
Prior to the Battle of Jakku, which occurred in 5 ABY, Gallius Rax, who served as Counselor to the Empire, addressed the Galactic Empire's forces stationed on Jakku before their confrontation with the New Republic. He dedicated several months to perfecting his address, viewing it as a form of propaganda intended to reassure the troops about their crucial role in the decisive battle. Rax delivered the speech from behind a podium situated at the Imperial headquarters, beneath a towering, flickering holostatue projection of himself. His intention was to create the impression of a god issuing sacred orders to his devoted followers. Unbeknownst to his own soldiers, Rax's plan involved the destruction of Jakku, along with the combined Imperial and New Republic forces, as part of the Contingency plan.
The speech given by Gallius Rax was featured within Aftermath: Empire's End, a 2017 novel by Chuck Wendig and the concluding book of the Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy.
