Gortus 4 was a terrestrial moon that, by the era of the Galactic Empire, served as the location of a colony. In the year 3 ABY, the colonists transferred the ownership rights of the moon to Lady Domina Tagge of the House of Tagge. After Lapin Tagge, her secretary, made her aware of this acquisition, she instructed them to notify the Construction Division of the Tagge Corporation, her company, to establish an operational ore factory on the moon within a standard week.
A flashback featured Gortus 4 in the sixth edition of the Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series of 2020, which was penned by Alyssa Wong and put out by Marvel Comics on November 25 of that year. A sneak peek of the comic, which was published on StarWars.com one week before the issue's release, contained the reference to the moon.
