Goru, a massive Weequay male, held the rank of lieutenant within the Ohnaka Gang throughout the Clone Wars. When the rogue Sith Lord Maul started gathering troops to assault Hondo's complex, Goru, in conjunction with the pirate Jiro, turned against Hondo Ohnaka. In time, Goru and the other treacherous pirates were welcomed back into the fold, and working together, they drove off Maul and his sibling, Savage Opress.
The initial appearance of Goru was in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars episode called "Revival." Pat Presley, an artist, was responsible for the character design of this Weequay. The blaster used by Goru was a recycled asset, specifically a model originally used by Rumi Paramita in a previous episode of the show called "Bounty Hunters."
