The Grand Hall, a part of the Pijali monarchy's royal palace, was situated on the planet Pijal within the Inner Rim. This hall, equipped with a viewscreen, was adjacent to the throne room of the Pijali monarch. During the Republic Era, attacks were escalating, and a guard under captain Deren of the royal guard was stationed at the hall's viewscreen to monitor the situation, blaming the Opposition performance troupe.
In 40 BBY, while on duty in the Grand Hall, the guard witnessed the destruction of a Czerka Corporation factory on Pijal's moon by an explosion. This attack was secretly orchestrated by blackguards who were loyal to princess Fanry, the crown heir of Pijal. The guard then notified Jedi Lord Regent Rael Averross about the incident and the alleged involvement of the Opposition. This prompted Averross and his courtiers to enter the Grand Hall to review recordings of the destruction. Enraged by what he saw, Averross instructed a communications officer present in the hall to request assistance from the Jedi Council in locating those responsible.
Master & Apprentice, a 2019 novel penned by Claudia Gray, featured the Grand Hall.
