Throne room (Pijal)

The throne room, situated inside the royal palace of the Pijali monarchy, was located on the planet Pijal in the Inner Rim. In the year 40 BBY, Princess Fanry presided over court proceedings within its walls, accompanied by Lord Regent Rael Averross, Minister Orth, and Czerka Sector Supervisor Meritt Col. Shortly after a strike impacted a soulcraft vessel, the princess formally welcomed Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, into the room, acknowledging their assistance in rescuing the craft. On the day preceding her coronation, Kenobi stood guard over Fanry as she occupied her throne.

Description

Found on the Inner Rim planet of Pijal, the throne room was a key feature of the royal palace belonging to the Pijali monarchy. The room featured windows with a pink hue and stone scrollwork, along with a tiled floor and an assortment of chairs positioned around a central throne. Doors provided access to the palace's Grand Hall.

History

In 40 BBY, the Pijali Princess Fanry conducted official business in the room, joined by Lord Regent Rael Averross, Minister Orth, and Czerka Sector Supervisor Meritt Col. Following Fanry's suggestion of Pijal hosting a future summit of galactic leaders, she and Averross deliberated on the feasibility of the concept, ultimately prioritizing the impending signing of the Governance Treaty. Subsequent to their discussion, the princess, Averross, and her attendants were preparing to depart the throne room to receive representatives from the Czerka Corporation. However, after a guard alerted them to an explosion that destroyed a Czerka factory, the group quickly moved to the palace's Grand Hall to review recordings of the event.

Later on, a soulcraft starship utilized by Pijali citizens for religious purposes endured a strike from a plasma bomb deployed by blackguards, Pijali soldiers secretly acting under Fanry's orders to sabotage the signing of the Governance Treaty. Fanry, observing footage of the damaged soulcraft as the incident unfolded, struggled to suppress her emotions, successfully concealing her blackguards' involvement in the attack. She had a brief conversation with Deren, her royal guard captain, about the strike, but was quickly informed by a technician that Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, had arrived aboard a Consular-class cruiser and could offer assistance. Ultimately, the plasma fire on the soulcraft was extinguished, and the vessel was taken aboard the Czerka Corporation cruiser Leverage.

Following Jinn and Kenobi's arrival on Pijal, Fanry gave them a formal reception in the throne room and requested that her court present themselves for introductions. Subsequently, the group discussed the Opposition dissident group, which had been protesting the Governance Treaty and were suspected of being responsible for the attacks actually committed by the blackguards. Despite the potential threat to Fanry's safety, the Pijali representatives declined to cancel the upcoming Grand Hunt event due to its significance; however, the Jedi committed to investigating the Opposition as dictated by their mission. On the day before Fanry's scheduled coronation, Kenobi assisted in guarding the princess within the throne room, demonstrating the functions of his lightsaber to her and her court and explaining how lightsabers' blades obtained their color. After the Galactic Republic deemed Fanry's violent coronation illegal, she abdicated the throne as queen, leading to the formation of the democratic Assembly government to permanently abolish the Pijali monarchy.
