Grizmallti

The Grizmallti were the human population indigenous to the planet known as Grizmallt, situated within the Core Worlds. Their religious beliefs centered around the worship of a deity whom they called Nabu. Approximately a century before 4000 BBY, the Grizmallti people made the discovery of a planet located in the Mid Rim Territories, and they chose to name it Nabu as a tribute to their revered god. This planet became a popular destination for vacations among the Grizmallti aristocratic class. Around 4000 BBY, Grizmallt was embroiled in a devastating civil war. Consequently, a number of colony ships carrying refugees departed from Grizmallt, ultimately arriving at Nabu. There, one of the ships suffered a crash, while the remaining ships successfully landed, initiating the colonizing of the planet by the Grizmallti.

Upon arrival, the colonists encountered another sentient species referred to as the Gungans. Initial attempts at diplomatic relations between the two groups were unsuccessful, leading to numerous conflicts over territorial and resource control throughout the subsequent decades. Eventually, the Grizmallti and the Gungans managed to establish a fragile peace agreement, stipulating mutual isolation. The descendants of the Grizmallti subsequently developed a flourishing society and adopted the name Naboo for themselves.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of the Grizmallti within canon occurred in Nexus of Power, a 2016 sourcebook created for the Star Wars: Force and Destiny roleplaying game. In the Star Wars Legends narrative, the inhabitants of Grizmallt were initially referenced in the DataBank associated with the 2001 LucasArts video game titled Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, but their identification as Grizmallti did not occur until the publication of Nexus of Power.
