Hazlekk, a human male zoologist, served the Galactic Empire as a Doctor. He was given the assignment of transporting a significant quantity of rare species specimens to Galactic Emperor Palpatine's personal zoo located on the planet of Coruscant during the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. He was a passenger aboard a class four container transport under the command of Captain Zarda. En route, the transport was approached by the VCX-100 light freighter known as the Ghost, which was promptly engaged by the Imperial ship's TIE/ln space superiority starfighters. The freighter successfully destroyed a number of TIEs and avoided being hit by others. Hazlekk then went to the bridge of the transport to ask Zarda why the enemy vessel had not been destroyed by the starfighters. Zarda attempted to reassure the doctor that the situation was being handled, but their conversation was interrupted by an alarm indicating a breach in the hull.
The character of Hazlekk initially appeared in Endangered, Part 1, a comic book story from 2018. Sholly Fisch wrote the story, Sean Galloway provided the illustrations, and it was published in Star Wars Adventures (2017) 7.
