Horton Salm was a male human who fought for the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a pilot throughout the Galactic Civil War. Keyser Salm, a Red Squadron pilot, was his younger brother. In Gray Squadron, he took to the skies as Gray Leader during the Battle of Endor, piloting a Y-wing to combat the forces of the Galactic Empire. During this engagement, Salm and his fellow squadron members were responsible for the destruction of the Star Destroyer Vehement.
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi marked the initial appearance of Horton Salm, though his identity was not revealed until the publication of Star Wars: Galactic Atlas.
