Hynestian Star Cruiser

The Hynestian Star Cruiser represented a starship class. These vessels participated in the Battle of Exegol, opposing the Sith Eternal forces. They were integrated into the Citizens' Fleet led by Lando Calrissian in 35 ABY.

Characteristics

Named after the human Hynestian race from the planet of Hynestia, the Hynestian Star Cruiser was a type of starship that began service around 35 ABY. This vessel was propelled by two primary engines and an additional six smaller engines located at the rear, with two more positioned midship. Furthermore, it included a hyperdrive system, two hangars, and some of the vessels that fought in the Battle of Exegol were decorated with colored paint schemes.

History

In 35 ABY, a significant number of Hynestian Star Cruisers were present at the Battle of Exegol. They formed part of the Citizens' Fleet, a group of civilian volunteers assembled from across the galaxy by Lando Calrissian, a former General of the Rebel Alliance and New Republic. They took up arms to resist the Sith Eternal's ambitions to control the galaxy. During the battle, Hynestian Star Cruisers were briefly incapacitated above the planet when Darth Sidious, the resurrected Galactic Emperor and leader of the Sith Eternal, unleashed a powerful surge of Force lightning against the citizen's fleet. However, the Sith were ultimately defeated shortly thereafter.

Behind the scenes

Hynestian Star Cruisers first appeared in The Rise of Skywalker.

The Hynestian Star Cruiser made its debut in the 2019 film, Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, part of the sequel trilogy. The name given to the ship originated from the film's production. This was confirmed in the 2020 video titled "Every Ship in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy," which was published by StarWarsKids.com as part of their Star Wars By the Numbers series.
