Jand, a criminal of the Weequay species, was active during the Imperial Era. Sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Jand collaborated with Sana Starros, a smuggler, guiding her to a specific Imperial warehouse located on E'ronoh. He led Starros to believe that the warehouse held something of significant rarity and value. Upon their arrival, Starros realized the warehouse was filled with po'acksters, rare creatures highly valued for their production of pink milk. Starros rejected the idea of trading in livestock and returned to their ship. Jand showed up later, and the pair then journeyed to the Starros family homestead on Hosnian Prime, where Starros and Jand parted ways. The Weequay attempted to convince Starros to accept a new job offer, mentioning a lead on Gherlian fur, but Starros once again refused, telling Jand that he would have to do it alone. Jand then inquired if Starros was certain she didn't require assistance, offering to at least slice the lock on the compound door, to which Starros confirmed that she was capable.
Following a request from Deva Lompop, Sana reached out to Jand, arranging a meeting at Wild Wollina's Animal Adventures on Hon-Tallos. It was there that the Weequay presented himself to Mevera Starros.
Jand was originally intended to aid the Starroses in rescuing their family members above Hynestia, but due to a prior commitment, he was unable to do so. As a substitute, he dispatched Hondo Ohnaka to take his place.
