A Force-sensitive individual, identifying as non-binary, was the elder sibling to Jezra'lin, a Mon Calamari also identifying as non-binary. Jezra'lin was a member of the Littles, who were children belonging to the Path of the Open Hand cult. Back in 382 BBY, while present in the market located in the town of Ferdan on the planet of Dalna in the Outer Rim, Jezra'lin observed Kevmo Zink, a Jedi Padawan, manipulating flowers in the air using the Force. Subsequently, the Mon Calamari informed Marda Ro, an Evereni member of the Path responsible for the Littles, about their sibling's connection to the Force, and then pondered if their sibling possessed the ability to also move flowers through the Force.

The older sibling of Jezra'lin was first referenced within the pages of The High Republic: Path of Deceit, a young-adult novel published in 2022 by Justina Ireland and Tessa Gratton. This novel forms a part of Phase II of the larger Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia initiative. In response to inquiries about the usage of "they/them" pronouns when referring to Jezra'lin's sibling in the novel, Gratton clarified that this choice was made to signify that the character identifies as non-binary.
The author further explained that the character may not necessarily identify as non-binary, but instead align with a gender specific to their species. This gender, when translated into the Galactic Basic language, corresponds to the use of "they/them" pronouns. For the purposes of Wookieepedia, the collaborative and unofficial Star Wars online encyclopedia, Gratton expressed comfort in categorizing Jezra'lin and their sibling—along with other characters in Path of Deceit who do not identify within the binary genders of male and female—as non-binary.
