Jogan Fruit Parfait

The Jogan Fruit Parfait was a kind of dessert parfait featuring purple and white colors. It was prepared using alternating layers of sweet creams, jellies, and jogan fruit. This culinary creation came from the mind of Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs, who included it in The Life Day Cookbook, his second cookbook. Tuggs released this cookbook following the publication of his initial cookbook in 34 ABY.

Tuggs' motivation for crafting this dish stemmed from his desire to incorporate the widely beloved jogan fruitcake into his cookbook. However, he hesitated to suggest serving such a commonly eaten dish during a festive occasion. Instead, he aimed to replicate its essence in a novel and invigorating form. He characterized the parfait as both cool and refreshing, asserting that it would evoke cherished memories while simultaneously offering a fresh outlook, mirroring the spirit of the holidays.

Behind the scenes

The recipe for Jogan Fruit Parfait was developed for the 2021 release of Star Wars: The Life Day Cookbook, a culinary guide authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The recipe, from an out-of-universe perspective, calls for unflavored gelatin, water, full-fat coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and ube extract for the gelatin component. The parfait itself is made using ube ice cream, whipped cream, and sweetened coconut flakes.
