Kadara Calrissian

Kadara Calrissian was a female individual who was the offspring of Landonis Balthazar Calrissian. Following the Galactic Civil War during a time of peace, Calrissian made an attempt to establish a family, and his daughter born in the year 13 ABY. He was a caring father during their time together; however, in 15 ABY, when she reached the age of two, the First Order abducted her, along with other offspring of former Rebel leaders.

Following the devastating loss of his daughter and his unsuccessful quest alongside Luke Skywalker to uncover the origins of the growing darkness within the Force, Calrissian chose to reside on the desert planet of Pasaana, embracing the lifestyle of a "hermit". Initially, he exiling himself with the intention of suppressing his painful memories, he eventually found solace in the humble and welcoming native Aki-Aki communities, and the simplicity of the life centered him. Following the Battle of Exegol, Lando's hopes of reuniting with his daughter were reignited through an encounter with Jannah, a former stormtrooper. Resolving to provide any assistance he could to the countless individuals that the First Order had taken from their homeworlds, Lando held onto the hope, however unlikely, that he might find his daughter during the process.

Behind the scenes

The daughter of Landonis Balthazar Calrissian was initially referenced in the 2019 reference publications Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Visual Dictionary authored by Pablo Hidalgo and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker: The Galactic Guide by Matt Jones. Although the film itself did not mention his daughter, Calrissian alluded to the kidnappings of the children of former Rebel leaders by the First Order, of which she was a victim, in lines from a deleted scene featured in The Visual Dictionary. According to co-screenwriter Chris Terrio, Lando's revelation regarding his daughter's abduction was intended to provide additional context for the targeting of Ben Solo. She was first named "Kadara" in Adam Christopher's 2022 novel, Shadow of the Sith. Kadara's given name was a nod to Lando's original name, "Lando Kadar," as it appeared in Leigh Brackett's screenplay for the 1980 movie Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
