Kaevee, whose name is pronounced /keɪ'vi/, was a female Padawan. She was training on the planet Dantooine during the period known as the Jedi Civil War.
Kaevee was still in the early phases of her training by the time of the Attack on Dantooine in 3956 BBY. She had not yet fully grasped the tenets of the Jedi Code and was unable to differentiate between the opposing natures of the Force. When the Sith attacked the Jedi Enclave, searching specifically for Revan and only asking about him, Kaevee was situated outside of the Enclave. She attempted to find safety within the Matale estate, but instead witnessed the deaths of Shen Matale and other members of the Matale family, along with the destruction of their home by fire.
She then made her home in the sublevel of the Enclave, where she summoned laigreks and commanded them to eliminate any intruders. She referred to these creatures as her "pets," as she believed her primary objective was to safeguard the Enclave at all costs. Ultimately, Meetra Surik discovered her.
The date of her birth is estimated from developer comments within the dialog.tlk file, which mention her being 17 years old. Additional comments in the file suggest that Kaevee was apparently being swayed to the dark side of the Force by a Sith holocron that began communicating with her upon activation. It was also intended that Kaevee would be the one responsible for stealing Suulru's farming equipment. The Exile would have the option to either kill her and recover the equipment, corrupt her to the Dark Side, or persuade her to abandon her thieving ways and guide her toward the Light Side. The quest would conclude after resolving the situation with Kaevee and then explaining the circumstances to Suulru.
Due to the absence of existing voice recordings for Kaevee, the developers of The Sith Lords Restoration Project issued a casting call when they considered reinstating her character. The identity of the voice actress remains unknown, although it was promised that her name would be included in the credits. However, the project was eventually discontinued.
In September 2009, a similar restoration mod, known as The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod, was launched. The voice of Kaevee in this mod was provided by the voice actress Usagi.
