Kendoh Thul

Kendoh Thul, a male Human, held the title of duke within the esteemed Alderaanian noble House of Thul. His life unfolded during the tumultuous eras of the Cold War and the Alderaan Civil War.

Biography

Duke Kendoh, a cunning and opportunistic noble, possessed the rare ability to turn any situation to his advantage. Having spent his formative years in Imperial space during House Thul's exile, Kendoh's allegiance to the Empire was far from absolute. While he appreciated the opulence afforded by Imperial credits and acknowledged his house's debt to the Empire, he also recognized that a noble's survival on Alderaan hinged on outsmarting and outmaneuvering rivals, and that allies could quickly become political liabilities. Simultaneously, Duke Kendoh did not claim to be courageous and knew how to be discreet. Consequently, the rest of House Thul tolerated and supported his actions.

Around 3643 BBY, Darth Baras reached out to Kendoh, seeking his assistance in identifying the parents of Jaesa Willsaam for his apprentice. The duke, however, found himself preoccupied with internal family conflicts upon the apprentice's arrival. When the Sith pressed him on his commitment, Kendoh nonchalantly refused to cooperate and instructed his Sith bodyguards to attack. FimmRess, their leader, intervened, reminding Kendoh that their sole purpose was to protect him and aid House Thul's pursuit of the throne, and that they would not defy Baras. Apologizing to the apprentice, Kendoh revealed that Jaesa served as the handmaiden of Lady Renata of House Alde. Renata, who had previously rejected his advances, had retreated to her heavily guarded family estate, compelling the apprentice to infiltrate and interrogate her. Kendoh also requested that the Sith apprentice, after extracting the necessary information from Renata, deliver her to him for further questioning. The apprentice agreed to his request after discovering that Jaesa was the handmaiden of General Gesselle Organa.

Subsequently, Kendoh devised a scheme for the apprentice to infiltrate Gesselle's fortress by sabotaging the planetary generator that powered its energy shield. While the Sith carried out this task, Kendoh foresaw that several of his family rivals, who also depended on the planetary generator, would be exposed, presenting him with an opportunity to eliminate them. He then falsely informed Baras that his young apprentice had triggered an explosion that resulted in the deaths of the Thul dignitaries, while sparing Gesselle Organa.

Later, when confronted by the apprentice, Kendoh realized that Baras had revealed his deception. He desperately tried to talk his way out of the situation, claiming that he had been entertaining other Thuls when he contacted Baras and was merely trying to conceal his subterfuge from them. However, FimmRess exposed Kendoh's lie, revealing that he had contacted Baras independently. This revelation further enraged the apprentice, prompting Kendoh to admit that he had believed his lies to Baras would be inconsequential and that Baras would only care about the mission's success. The apprentice remained unforgiving. Terrified, Kendoh turned to FimmRess, reminding him of his duty to protect him. FimmRess declared that if Baras' apprentice decided he was to die, he and his cohorts would not interfere. Kendoh could only protest his bodyguards' inaction as he was slain by the apprentice.

Behind the scenes

Upon uncovering Kendoh's treachery, players face a choice: they can either kill him, earning dark alignment points, or spare/exile him, gaining light alignment points. Should they choose to kill him, players have the option of either executing Kendoh themselves, ordering FimmRess to do it, or killing both of them. If the player neither kills nor exiles the Duke, FimmRess will call the Warrior weak and attack them.
