The remnants of Kinro as they encircle Akiva
Kinro was once a comet whose trajectory was predicted to intersect with the Core Worlds long before the events of the Galactic Civil War. Before it could reach the Mid Rim, the Jedi Order united their powers to shatter it into pieces. During this event, some Jedi either perished or suffered mental breakdowns. The remaining fragments of Kinro became an asteroid field in orbit around the planet Akiva, located within the Outer Rim's Akiva system.
In 3 ABY, the scoundrel known as Kay Vess recovered a shipping container from this field of debris. Inside, she discovered the necessary materials to apply a "Verdant Cover" aesthetic to a EML-850 light freighter. Additionally, Vess found a recording of a communication dating back to the Clone Wars between the droid C-5DS and Supervisor Poreni, concerning the performance of a group of B-series battle droids that were manufactured on Akiva.
Not long after the Battle of Endor, the Oculus, a Carrack-class light cruiser, sought refuge within the debris field originating from the comet.
The first mention of Kinro occurred in Chuck Wendig's 2015 novel, Aftermath. Later, the debris field was depicted in the Akiva orbit map within the 2024 video game Star Wars Outlaws, a project developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft.
