L8O-RC was a protocol droid of the L8O series owned by the Hutt Riboga. This droid was part of Riboga's operational staff, assisting in his business affairs, but met its end after Riboga lost his grip on the criminal activities within the Cularin system. Subsequently, its head was discovered in a scrap shipment originating from Uffel by Ginder, a Bimm. Ginder, noticing the unwanted attention it attracted, entrusted the head to freelance mercenaries for protection. Both the Thaereian military and criminals seeking favor with Nirama coveted it due to its prior association with Riboga, while the droids of Uffel desired its return.
L80-RC's original color was a light green, reminiscent of aged copper, and the head was slightly damaged when Ginder found it. Despite the damage, it could be repaired with a power source, or its data could be extracted. The head held data regarding inventories conducted when Riboga transferred his operations to Nirama, and also the locations of concealed weapon and treasure stashes, intended for Riboga's potential return to the Cularin system. The Uffel droids knew how to trigger hidden explosives within the head.
