Ginder

Ginder, a male Bimm with fur, plied his trade as both a scavenger and an information broker within the Cularin system. He resided in the city of Tolea Biqua, which orbited the planet Genarius. Around the year 31 BBY, while sifting through a shipment of discarded materials, Ginder stumbled upon the head of an L8O-series protocol droid, specifically L8O-RC. Realizing that several groups placed a high value on this head, he sought to sell it quickly before they found him. His attempt to sell the head to some freelancers at the Falling Rodian cantina landed him in the middle of a massive conflict between factions vying for the mysterious treasure, with the freelancers ultimately claiming the head.

Biography

Genarius, around which orbited Ginder's home city of Tolea Biqua

Around 31 BBY, Ginder, a male Bimm covered in fur, worked as both a scavenger and an information broker. Ginder's home city, Tolea Biqua, orbited the Genarius gas giant situated in the Cularin system of the Expansion Region's. It was there that he discovered the head of an L8O-series protocol droid, L8O-RC, while examining some waste from the moon of Uffel. He recognized it as the kind of droid formerly used by Riboga the Hutt, the former crime lord of the Cularin system, and suspected its data held value, so he began showing the head around.

These actions, however, attracted the attention of soldiers from the Thaereian military under the command of Colonel Jir Tramsig, as well as a rival group of thugs attempting to gain favor with Nirama, a mysterious alien leading the local crime syndicate. Neither group initially offered payment, instead choosing to follow the Bimm. Unbeknownst to Ginder, a third group was also tracking him: a group of droids from Uffel who sought to prevent the protocol droid head's information from benefiting anyone.

Feeling increasingly cornered, Ginder urgently contacted a group of freelancers, hoping to offload the head and escape the city. While meeting the freelancers at the Falling Rodian, a cantina where Ginder had been waiting on and off for several afternoons, the soldiers and thugs arrived, triggering a battle over the head. Ginder hid under a table during the fight, which ultimately resulted in the freelancers acquiring the head.

Personality and traits

Ginder enjoyed haggling and adhered to the Bimm belief that theft equated to murder. Known for his accuracy, Ginder was considered trustworthy and alert. Norben, the bartender at the Falling Rodian cantina, noted that Ginder was often anxious, with the droid head situation making him even more so. Despite his typical Bimm enthusiasm for bartering, Ginder was eager to quickly sell the droid's head, highlighting his desperation. He was approximately one meter tall with tan fur, small dark eyes, an elongated muzzle, and long, floppy ears.

Skills and abilities

Ginder possessed the ability to speak and write Bimmini. He was also able to speak Galactic Basic Standard, but he could not write it. Additionally, he was skilled in the use of blasters.

Equipment

Ginder typically wore yellow trousers and a jacket, and he carried a small assortment of personal items.

Behind the scenes

Ginder's character was created for "Head Trip," a 2001 mini-adventure supplement exclusively available on Wizards.com for the Living Force Campaign Guide from Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Roleplaying Game, authored by Jeff Grubb. The supplement suggests that the players can involve the heroes by mentioning that Ginder's family and their own relatives share connections.

The confrontation in the Falling Rodian can be avoided if the heroes choose to surrender the head to Tramsig's soldiers, which Ginder will protest but ultimately accept. If the fight in the Falling Rodian occurs, Ginder may attempt to retrieve the droid head without participating in the violence; however, the occurrence of this event is optional and determined by the players. This article assumes that the events unfolded as described in the supplement.
