These trees were native to the planet Haruun Kal, located in the Mid Rim. The Imperial bombardment of Haruun Kal resulted in the destruction of most of its forests. However, lammas trees had started to regrow by the time that Artiodac chef Strono Tuggs visited the planet on a culinary tour of the galaxy, which occurred between 34 ABY and 35 ABY.
Tuggs, despite his reluctance to impede Haruun Kal's ecological restoration, considered the saplings too delicious to ignore, taking a small quantity with the belief that it would be inconsequential. Subsequently, he included a recipe for Lammas Tree Bites in The Ultimate Cookbook, his third cookbook, which saw publication in 35 ABY.
The recipe for Lammas Tree Bites was originally created for Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a 2023 recipe book authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe composition of this dish calls for the use of baby cauliflower, olive oil, lemon zest, a finely chopped garlic clove, Parmesan cheese, parsley, kosher salt, and black pepper.
