Landing Platform Number Nine, which can also be referred to as landing pad number nine or platform number nine, was the designated ninth landing area situated at the Imperial Center of Military Research on the planet Scarif. Before the events of the Battle of Scarif, the Zeta-class Heavy Cargo Shuttle with the designation SW-0608, which had been stolen and was being flown by the rebel squad known as "Rogue One", touched down on landing pad number nine.
A team of Imperial inspectors got to the location using the tram system and proceeded to enter the cargo shuttle. However, they discovered concealed rebels within the shuttle and were subsequently ambushed and killed. Following this, a shoretrooper launched a fragmentation grenade into the cargo shuttle, resulting in the complete destruction of the vehicle and significant damage to the landing pad.
