A line regiment represented a unit within the Imperial Army.
A line regiment included a regimental headquarters along with two line battalions, one assault battalion, and a single repulsorlift battalion. The manpower of a line regiment totaled 3,530 individuals, supported by 130 repulsorcraft. Typically, line regiments saw deployment on planetary surfaces where only minor resistance was anticipated.
The design of the COMPNOR Regiment closely mirrored that of the line regiment. A key difference was the absence of five security platoons in the COMPNOR Regiment.
Line regiments had the potential to be reinforced through the addition of an artillery battalion in addition to another line battalion, assault battalion, and repulsorlift battalion.
