Lira San Cracker

Lira San Crackers were a type of traditional snack food consumed by the Lasat, characterized by their thin, yellow, and unevenly perforated disc shape. These vegetarian crackers offered a crunchy texture alongside cheesy and salty flavors, providing a significant energy boost to those who consumed them. Following the devastated state of the Lasat's adopted homeworld Lasan around 7 BBY due to the actions of the Galactic Empire, some Lasat survivors sought refuge on their original homeworld, Lira San. To reach this Wild Space world, a challenging journey through a collapsed star cluster was necessary, leading them to stock their ships with Lira San Crackers and other snacks for sustained energy during the voyage.

The Artiodac chef known as Strono Tuggs featured a recipe for these crackers in his third cookbook, titled The Ultimate Cookbook, which followed his culinary exploration of the galaxy between 34 ABY and 35 ABY. Published in 35 ABY, Tuggs highlighted the popularity of the crackers in the book, incorporating them as a key ingredient in his Sand Mynock 'n' Cheese and Chandrilan Cheese Board recipes.

Behind the scenes

The recipe for Lira San Crackers was developed for the 2023 release of Star Wars: The Ultimate Cookbook, a culinary guide authored by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak. The out-of-universe formulation of the crackers calls for the use of mild cheddar cheese and kosher salt.
