A long-range triad transmitter served as a type of communications triad. It was deployed in Lesser Space, the area beyond the Unknown Regions, and within the domain of the Chiss Ascendancy. Each world in Lesser Space possessed one such transmitter. In approximately 18 BBY, a message was transmitted via a long-range triad transmitter on the Chiss world of Schesa from Supreme Admiral Ja'fosk on the Chiss capital planet of Csilla. This message was received by the Chiss Nightdragon man-of-war Vigilant warship.
Around the same Standard year, Generalirius [Nakirre], the leader of the Kilji Illumine government, used another triad transmitter, this one located on the Ascendancy's planet of Colonial Station Chaf, to communicate with the generals commanding his Illumine Kilhorde battle fleet. He also received progress reports from his field commanders' concerning their conquests. However, the reports abruptly stopped one day, leading Nakirre to suspect that his generals had expanded their conquests to Colonial Station Chaf, which would have interfered with the operation of the transmitter. The Kilhorde, in reality, had been destroyed by the Paataatus Hiveborn.
