Luther Pardy originated from Sulon and was a male being. He existed during the times of the Galactic Civil War and the Imperial Era, only hearing stories, which he considered to be "fairy tales", regarding the mythical Jedi and the Force.
To avoid the Galactic Empire's fury during the Galactic Civil War, he joined Morgan Katarn and other Sulonese in leaving their homeworld. Katarn guided them to Ruusan, a world largely forgotten except by certain smugglers.
On the night of 5 ABY, he was present in Smuggler's Rest when Grif Grawley urgently entered, warning of an approaching Imperial Viper probe droid and the need to evacuate Fort Nowhere. Pardy disregarded his concerns.
Soon after, Grawley's warnings proved accurate, and the Imperials devastated Fort Nowhere. Despite his low opinion of Grawley, Pardy, along with other survivors, followed him and sought refuge in an ancient temple. Later, an unknown ship, guided by Grawley's transmissions, approached, and Grawley used his flier drone Fido to investigate. Observing the screen, Luther remarked that while they may not appear to be Imperials, they could be bounty hunters, and Grif was leading them directly to their location. Grif noticed the young man's resemblance to Morgan, pondering his allegiance; Luther dismissed these thoughts, stating he would soon discover the truth.
The ship then landed in the temple courtyard. Pardy, together with Kimber and Lasko, stood armed beside Grif as he greeted the pilots, including Kyle Katarn, an old acquaintance from Sulon, and relieved them of their weapons. Pardy held onto Katarn's blaster and lightsaber. Grif instructed the three to conceal the newly arrived ship with netting to prevent Imperial detection and then enter the temple.
Inside, he listened to Katarn recount his past, including his defection from the Empire, the Valley of the Jedi, and the Seven Dark Jedi searching for it on the planet. Pardy remained unconvinced that Katarn was not an Imperial spy, especially given the "fairy tales" about the Force used to support his story, and voiced his skepticism. Anticipating an attack from Katarn, Pardy expected to defeat him and elevate his standing in Grawley's eyes. Instead, Katarn used telekinesis to pull his lightsaber from Pardy's belt and activate it. Pardy stepped back, witnessing this, and Grif, now convinced, ordered him to return the blaster.
He reluctantly aided Kyle Katarn in reaching the Valley of the Jedi.
Luther Pardy was a large man, possessing broad shoulders and exceeding the average human weight by thirty pounds. He also had a receding chin.
Reflecting the sentiments of many during the Imperial Period, he doubted the existence of the Force and the Jedi, dismissing the old stories as mere tales. He was prone to aggression and quick to insult Grif Grawley, often accusing him of drunkenness. Despite his negative perception of Grawley, he eventually accepted him as the leader of the survivors. As a member of the group, he was eager to punish potential Imperial spies, hoping to improve his position within the group.
Luther Pardy made his debut appearance in the novella Dark Forces: Jedi Knight.
In the audio adaptation, Jack Walsh provided his voice. The adaptation also reinforces Pardy's Sulonese origin.
