A human female Jedi named Maeve Cuilinn existed during the time of the High Republic Era. Back in 382 BBY, in the Holy City located on the moon of Jedha, she employed telekinesis through the Force to rescue some members of the Path of the Open Hand cult from a runaway speeder. Following this act, Whool, an Abednedo, treated Cuilinn with disdain when she offered assistance, stemming from his and the Path's mistrust of individuals who used the Force](/article/force-sensitive).

During the High Republic Era, Maeve Cuilinn served as a Jedi. In 382 BBY, while present on the pilgrim moon Jedha, Cuilinn found herself in a situation where a Togruta lost control of their speeder within the Holy City. The out-of-control vehicle was on a collision course with a gathering of individuals belonging to the Path of the Open Hand, a Force-cult that had recently arrived on the moon. Cuilinn intervened, utilizing the Force to avert the impending crash. With the exception of an Abednedo by the name of Whool, the Path of the Open Hand disciples scattered. Cuilinn gently lowered the hovering speeder with her hand. Despite the applause from those nearby, the Jedi's attention was drawn to Whool.
The Abednedo, who had been abandoned by his fellow Path of the Open Hand members, was lying on the ground. She extended an offer of assistance; however, due to the Path of the Open Hand's inherent distrust of all users of the Force, including the Jedi Order, he refused her help. Negative feelings toward the Jedi were voiced by Whool, who shouted and crawled away. Even after Whool explicitly requested to be left alone, she persisted in offering her assistance. Keth Cerepath, a young adjunct from the Church of the Force, a Force-based religion on Jedha, had been observing the interaction and intervened, offering his assistance while assuring Whool that he was not a Jedi. Cerepath suggested that Cuilinn allow him to help the Path of the Open Hand member. Recognizing that her presence was causing Whool distress, Cuilinn acquiesced and departed, leaving the two together.

Cerepath and Whool went together to the tapbar called Enlightenment, where the adjunct questioned the Path of the Open Hand member about his fear of the Jedi and his rejection of the woman's assistance. Whool responded that she had used the Force to help him. He proceeded to elucidate the teachings of the Path of the Open Hand, explaining why, according to his beliefs, the use of the Force was wrong.
After Cuilinn departed, the Togruta drove his speeder by the Dome of Deliverance. The vehicle malfunctioned once more and crashed into a group of pilgrims, resulting in the death of four individuals, including the driver. Later, Piralli, a Sullustan dock worker, learned of the accident. He visited Enlightenment and shared the news with Cerepath. When Cerepath expressed his confusion regarding the accident, Piralli informed the human that it was the same speeder that Cuilinn had previously stopped. The Sullustan lamented that the Jedi was not present to prevent the speeder from crashing again.

Maeve Cuilinn was a female human with fair skin and hair streaked with red and white. Like many Jedi, Cuilinn possessed a helpful nature. Upon witnessing a speeder on the verge of crashing into a crowd, she acted immediately to neutralize the threat by halting the vehicle. She became perplexed when the Path of the Open Hand member Whool declined her assistance, struggling to comprehend his rejection. She sought an explanation from the crowd as to why the Abednedo was so dismissive. Cuilinn demonstrated the ability to recognize that her presence was causing Whool distress and removed herself from the situation.
Cuilinn possessed Force-sensitivity. Through concentration, she could employ the Force power of telekinesis to halt a moving speeder and levitate it more than a meter above the ground.
As a Jedi, Cuilinn wore the typical brown and white Jedi robes. Her attire incorporated a belt equipped with a holster for carrying the metallic hilt of her lightsaber.
Maeve Cuilinn made an appearance in the short story "Tales of Enlightenment: A Different Perspective," penned by George Mann and featured in Star Wars Insider 215 as a component of Phase II of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia endeavor on December 6, 2022.
