Magaloof was a Leffingite male from Almak, the homeworld of his species. He made a living as a speeder thief on the planet of Coruscant. While recklessly driving a stolen speeder near the Bonadan Embassy in 22 BBY, he almost crashed into Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight who was clinging to the assassin droid ASN-121. The droid was flying through Coruscant's crowded skylanes. Having witnessed much since his arrival on Coruscant, the Leffingite was nonetheless taken aback by the sight of a Jedi hanging from a droid high above the ground, expressing his bewilderment.
Later, Magaloof appeared in the restored and expanded journal of an artist, which was put on display at the Graf Archive after 34 ABY. This Leffingite was described as having orange skin and blue eyes, with a height of 1.4 meters. During his speeder theft, he was wearing a red shirt that had a white collar.
Magaloof's initial appearance was in the 2002 film, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, part of the prequel trilogy. Matthew Wood, the supervising sound editor, provided the character's voice. Within the current Star Wars canon, the character's identification originated from an entry in the Databank on StarWars.com, published by February 8, 2016. The name itself comes from the Star Wars Legends continuity; it was first featured in the 2003 reference book Inside the Worlds of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, authored by Curtis Saxton and Simon Beecroft.
