The MC95A Star Cruiser represented a specific type of Star Cruiser originating from Mon Calamari, seeing action during the First Order's conflict with the Resistance - the war between. Numerous MC95A Star Cruisers were part of the Citizens' Fleet present at Exegol, engaging in the Battle of Exegol in 35 ABY against the Sith Eternal alongside the Resistance.

The Mon Calamari designed MC95A Star Cruiser was a particular class of Star Cruiser. This MC95A Star Cruiser was characterized by two prominent, slender wings situated at its forward section. It was also outfitted with a hyperdrive, enabling it to achieve lightspeed travel through hyperspace, and was equipped with engines. A powerful blast of Force lightning was capable of disabling the MC95A Star Cruiser. Embodying typical Mon Calamari design principles, the MC95A Star Cruiser featured a rounded hull composed of diverse modules. A dorsal module towards the rear was adorned with multiple antenna, along with laser cannons. The ship's bridge was positioned within the forward command area, close to the vessel's bow. Furthermore, a bridge tower was located at the rear of the ship.
The MC95A Star Cruiser, functioning as a capital ship, was capable of participating in engagements of naval warfare.
MC95A Star Cruisers were actively used during the war between the First Order, a military regime that rose from the ashes of the old Galactic Empire, and the Resistance, a paramilitary organization stemming from the disbanded Rebel Alliance and the now-defunct New Republic. In 35 ABY, the legendary General Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca embarked on a mission aboard the iconic Millennium Falcon to gather support from the citizens of the galaxy to bolster the Resistance. This force journeyed to Exegol, an ancient world and Sith stronghold, aiming to dismantle the resurgent Sith Eternal, which had aligned with the First Order, and to protect the galaxy from their dominion.

As the Resistance faced imminent defeat and sustained significant casualties, a vast Citizens' Fleet comprising 14,000 vessels from across the galaxy materialized at Exegol. This fleet, which included a substantial number of MC95A Star Cruisers, engaged in the Battle of Exegol. Augmented by these reinforcements, the unified galactic alliance launched an assault on the Final Order, an immense armada of planet-killing Xyston-class Star Destroyers exceeding 1,000 ships. While the Jedi Rey and Ben Solo confronted Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, on the planet's surface, Darth Sidious channeled Force power from the Force dyad connecting Rey and Solo, unleashing a powerful barrage of Force lightning against the galactic fleet, disabling many ships. Following Rey's continued resistance, the lightning subsided, allowing the fleet to regain its advantage. Ultimately, Rey deflected Sidious's own lightning back at him, leading to his disintegration and ultimate demise. The remaining forces of the Sith Eternal on Exegol were annihilated, and an uprising against the First Order erupted throughout the galaxy.

The MC95A Star Cruiser made its debut appearance in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the concluding chapter of both the Star Wars saga and the sequel trilogy. Its identification was first revealed in an episode of Star Wars By the Numbers on StarWarsKids.com in 2020.
