The MC95D Star Cruiser represented a class of Star Cruiser originating from Mon Calamari. These vessels were observed across the galaxy around the time that the First Order and the Resistance engaged in war between. A significant number of MC95D Star Cruisers were part of the Citizens' Fleet assembled on Exegol during 35 ABY, where they participated in the Battle of Exegol against the Sith Eternal alongside the Resistance.

The MC95D Star Cruiser was a Star Cruiser designed by the Mon Calamari. Outfitted with a hyperdrive, the MC95D Star Cruiser possessed the ability to travel through hyperspace at lightspeed. It also featured at least eight sublight engines. On the aft port and starboard sides, there were two dual engines, while four larger engine units were arranged in a square formation at the rear. Notably, powerful bursts of Force lightning could disable the MC95D Star Cruiser.
Consistent with Mon Calamari ship designs, the MC95D Star Cruiser exhibited a rounded hull composed of various modules, and it was distinguished by a prominent tower located at the aft mid-section. A smaller command tower was positioned behind this large tower and its module. Near the bow, on the forward section of the ship, was the bridge. The MC95D also featured two large wings on the port and starboard sides at the mid-section, each with a large module near its tip. Two smaller wings were also present at the bow. For armament, it had laser cannons and two hangars located on both sides of the hull, close to the bow.
Being a capital ship, the MC95D Star Cruiser was capable of engaging in naval warfare.
MC95D Star Cruisers were operational during the war between the First Order – a military government succeeding the old Galactic Empire – and the Resistance, a private military force originating from the disbanded Rebel Alliance and the destroyed New Republic. In 35 ABY, General Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca, heroes of the Alliance and Republic, traveled aboard the Millennium Falcon to gather support from the citizens of the galaxy for the Resistance. This effort led them to the ancient Sith world of Exegol, where they aimed to permanently defeat the resurgent Sith Eternal, who were allied with the First Order, and to liberate the galaxy from their control.

As the Resistance faced potential defeat and significant losses in the battle, a massive Citizens' Fleet of 14,000 ships from across the galaxy arrived at Exegol. This fleet, which included numerous MC95D Star Cruisers, joined the climactic Battle of Exegol. This reinforced allied force engaged the Final Order, a substantial fleet of over 1,000 planet-killing Xyston-class Star Destroyers. While Jedi Rey and Ben Solo fought against the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious at the Sith Citadel on the planet's surface, Darth Sidious amplified his Force power using the Force dyad between Rey and Solo. He then unleashed a powerful barrage of Force lightning at the galactic fleet, disabling many ships. After Rey recovered and resumed the fight, the lightning subsided, allowing the fleet to regain power and continue the battle. Ultimately, Rey deflected Sidious's lightning back at him, causing his disintegration and final demise. The remaining forces of the Sith Eternal on Exegol were destroyed, and an uprising against the First Order commenced throughout the galaxy.

The MC95D Star Cruiser made its debut in Star Wars: Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, the concluding chapter of both the Star Wars saga and the sequel trilogy. Its identification was first revealed in a Star Wars By the Numbers segment on StarWarsKids.com in 2020.
