Raid on Skytop Station

During the time of the Clone Wars, a covert operation was executed by the Galactic Republic military: a raid targeting Skytop Station. The Republic forces had come to the conclusion that the Confederacy of Independent Systems was secretly using a listening post to eavesdrop on their communications. The location of this post, Skytop Station, situated on a moon within the Ruusan system, was pinpointed thanks to a transmission originating from R2-D2, the astromech droid belonging to Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker who had been recently captured.

Under the command of Jedi General and Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Skywalker, along with his Padawan Ahsoka Tano, and a clone troopers squad led by Captain Rex, infiltrated the station with the objective of destroying it. Skywalker also aimed to retrieve R2, whose lack of a memory-wipe greatly disturbed Kenobi. The mission's complexity increased with the discovery that R3-S6, the astromech assigned as R2's replacement, was in reality a Separatist spy. Ultimately, Skytop Station met its end, with Skywalker, Tano, and the surviving clones making their escape aboard the Twilight. Skywalker then returned in his starfighter to rescue R2 from the collapsing station. General Grievous, who was present at the station, also managed to flee in his ship, the Soulless One.

Behind the scenes

Star Wars: The Secrets of the Clone Troopers, a reference guide, mistakenly merges the Skytop Station mission with the Battle of Bothawui, which occurred earlier during the same campaign.
