Mitth'oor'akiord, known by the core name of Thooraki, was a male Chiss who possessed the title of Patriarch within the Mitth family. Thooraki dedicated his efforts to recruitment for the Mitth, actively identifying and facilitating invitations for promising individuals to join the family.
The Patriarch, Thooraki, directly requested his acquaintance, General Ba'kif, to guide the Mitth family toward recruiting Kivu'raw'nuru. This individual would later become Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo, with the core name "Thrawn," serving in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet. Furthermore, he personally extended an invitation to Ali'astov, formerly a ozyly-esehembo, or skywalker, Ali'astov, whose Third Sight abilities had diminished, to become a member of the Mitth.
When Mitth'ali'astov ("Thalias"), a merit adoptive member of the Mitth family, underwent her family Trials, Patriarch Thooraki was present. He regarded her solutions as remarkably elegant and commended her, welcoming her as a Trial-born member of the Mitth. Thooraki held Trial-born Mitth'raw'nuruodo in high esteem, recognizing his potential to bring significant achievements to both the Mitth family and the Chiss Ascendancy as a whole. However, he acknowledged that some believed Thrawn could lead them to downfall. He entrusted Thalias with the responsibility of safeguarding Thrawn from his adversaries, given Thrawn's inherent weakness in political matters.
Mitth'oor'akiord (Thooraki) himself welcomed Kivu'raw'nuru (Vurawn) into the Mitth family, transforming him into Mitth'raw'nuru (Thrawn). He knew of his potential to bring glory to the family. Subsequently, he also personally accepted former sky-walker Al'iastov into the Mitth, thus creating Mitth'ali'astov (Thalias).
As he approached his demise, Thooraki witnessed Thalias undertaking the Mitth family Trials. He decided to directly address her, as she was actively hindering those who sought to undermine Thrawn's career. He firmly believed that Thrawn represented his most significant accomplishment and possessed the capacity to elevate the Mitth's reputation. Thooraki conveyed to Thalias that certain other Mitth members, vying for the Patriarch position upon his passing, were inclined to exchange that potential glory for a "safer" trajectory for the family. Thooraki maintained that taking risks was essential for preserving the Mitth's current standing among the Ruling Families. When Thalias inquired about how she could assist Thrawn, Thooraki instructed her to vigilantly watch over him and to rally his allies and friends when necessary. Thooraki affirmed that Thalias had successfully completed her trials, and she pledged to safeguard Thrawn.
In 18 BBY, Thooraki's life came to an end due to advanced age. Following his death, Speaker Mitth'ykl'omi (Thyklo) informed Syndic Prime Thurfian, who had now assumed the role, of the passing and that he had been selected as the next Patriarch.

Thrawn, Thooraki's most significant achievement, was ultimately exiled from the Chiss Ascendancy as a consequence of one of his more recent victories. However, Thrawn continued to serve the Ascendancy, striving to ensure that the Galactic Empire would never launch an attack on the Ascendancy and to gain deeper insights into the newly established order. Thrawn ascended to the highest echelons of the Empire, eventually attaining the rank of Grand Admiral, thereby guaranteeing that his people would remain safe from Imperial aggression.
As the Patriarch of the Mitth family, Mitth'oor'akiord demonstrated a strong interest in attracting, recruiting, and retaining talented Chiss individuals within the family. Thooraki personally orchestrated invitations for Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo and Caregiver Mitth'ali'astov to join the Mitth family, recognizing their potential to both benefit from and contribute to the family's success.
Patriarch Thooraki exhibited a protective stance towards Thrawn, acknowledging the officer's exceptional tactical and strategic capabilities while also recognizing his critical weakness in political maneuvering. Thooraki accurately deduced that Thrawn had adversaries within the upper ranks of not only the Ascendancy but also the Mitth family itself. Aware of his advanced age and impending death, Thooraki harbored concerns that members of the Mitth family who opposed Thrawn might seek to succeed him as Patriarch.
Syndic (and later Syndic Prime) Mitth'urf'ianico was one such high-ranking anti-Thrawn official of the Mitth. After Thooraki's passing, Thurfian succeeded the elder as the Mitth family Patriarch; vindicating Thooraki's fears that a Patriarch determined to destroy Thrawn might succeed him.
Thooraki made his initial appearance in the novel Thrawn Ascendancy: Chaos Rising authored by Timothy Zahn.
