Murthil's den

The Selonian Murthil, a resident of Selonia, held the position of mother to a den composed of Selonian soldiers. This group of warriors made their home within the Selonian Tunnel Network situated beneath Corellia's capital, known as Coronet City, a planet.

History

Denizens

Murthil was a strong Selonian den mother

By 3640 BBY, the den, spearheaded by the formidable den mother Murthil, had been defending their homeworld, Corellia, for a number of years. The existence of this den was only known to surface-dwellers through whispers of a vast Selonian Tunnel Network located under Coronet City. Within this network, they dwelled in interconnected caverns that were either carved from Corellia's bedrock or formed by a pre-existing system of subterranean pipelines.

Invasion

During the Galactic War between the Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire, the Sith Empire's military forces launched an invasion of Corellia, systematically purging Republic loyalists, resistance fighters, and the native Selonians from their residences. Enraged by this violation, the Corellian Selonians, under the leadership of their den mother Murthil, extended assistance to resistance fighters fleeing the surface and offered sanctuary to those impacted by the attempted Imperial occupation.

Bulwarks

During the struggle to achieve independence from Imperial control, the Seloians became a primary target because they were providing shelter for rebels within the Tunnel Network situated below Coronet's Labor Valley. Acting on the orders of the Imperial commander, Darth Decimus, an Imperial strike force was dispatched with the mission of pursuing the remaining rebel forces and confronting Murthil for the aid she was providing to the rebellion.

Within Murthil's network of tunnels, Imperial forces eliminated many Selonian warriors as they advanced towards Murthil's bunker. The mother and her Elite Selonian Guards were prepared behind a Force Field Generator.

Fall

Imperial forces brought an end to the Selonian uprising

While still directing her den from within the bunker, Murthil found herself confronted by an Imperial hero while in consultation with the elite guard Destha. Demanding that the Imperials surrender, the Selonians were nonetheless prepared for battle, which ultimately ensued.

Despite rallying her warriors within the chamber, the Selonians were unable to match the prowess of the Imperial hero. Overwhelmed and defeated, Murthil resigned herself to the downfall of her den when three Imperial Guards entered, including General Hesker. Hesker, after congratulating the Imperial hero on their success, conveyed Darth Decimus' desire for the hero to decide the fate of the Selonians.

The Imperial hero determined the destiny of Corellia's Selonians when Murthil was executed, declaring, "we'll kill every last Selonian on Corellia."

Members

Destha was an Elite Selonian Guard of Murthil's den

Murthil's Selonian den was made up of numerous warriors, which included the Elite Selonian Guards. The tunnel network of pipelines under Coronet City was populated by Selonian warriors, with the more elite warriors, such as armsmasters, standing watch closer to the den mother's tunnels and her bunker. The Elite Guard, including Destha, a Selonian who wielded twin blaster pistols, were responsible for the protection of den mother Murthil.

Behind the scenes

The den led by Murthil makes its initial and sole appearance in the 2011 video game titled Star Wars: The Old Republic.

When presented with the choice between killing or capturing Murthil, players could choose to spare the Selonians, allowing Murthil to pledge her allegiance to the Empire. Before being taken into Imperial custody, the den mother explains that, in accordance with Selonian customs, promises are always honored.

Later, Major Tradik, an Imperial officer who initially advocated for assaulting the "flurry aliens"—referring to the Selonians—in their tunnels upon hearing of their collaboration with resistance forces and who served as Darth Decimus' liaison to Imperial forces at Labor Valley, would inform the player of the aftermath of Murthil's capture via an in-game mail, which included 3018 credits.
