The Namana-class light cruiser represented a type of warship utilized by the Bakuran Defense Fleet.
Deriving its name from the addictive fruit native to Bakura, the Namana-class cruisers were designed to offer protective support on the flanks of the larger Bakura-class destroyers. When operating independently, the success of Namana-class ships was heavily dependent on the expertise and tactical abilities of their commanding officers.
A light cruiser of the Namana-class was the initial vessel to undergo testing of the Bakuran hyperwave inertial momentum sustainer in the period leading up to the Corellian Crisis.
Notably, the Intruder served as a flagship of the Bakuran Defense Fleet during the Battle of Centerpoint Station. Within the context of the Corellian crisis, the Intruder held the unfortunate distinction of being the second Bakuran vessel to be destroyed, following the Bakura-class destroyer Watchkeeper. Its destruction occurred during the Battle of Centerpoint Station, the result of damage inflicted by three concealed robot ramships. Despite the extensive damage sustained, the possibility existed for the ship to be seized and subsequently repaired. However, Gaeriel Captison and Admiral Hortel Ossilege initiated the self-destruct sequence. This action not only resulted in their own demise and the death of all personnel aboard but also eliminated a substantial portion of the Saccorian fleet. This drastic measure was undertaken to prevent the ship from falling into enemy hands.
