New Geddes

New Geddes existed as a city situated upon the terraformed asteroid known as Hanoon, and it served as the location for the Terraform Processor.

History

The city known as New Geddes evolved from an Imperial research facility that was located on the asteroid Geddes, which was in orbit around the planet called Krant. This base experienced a raid by a small army led by the Jedi Master Echuu Shen-Jon, alongside the Rebel Alliance leader Leia Organa, and the Wookiee Attichitcuk. During this raid, they successfully destroyed a Sith Temple and retrieved the Vor'Na'Tu, a very old and powerful Jedi artifact. After Shen-Jon and Organa liberated Krant, the Imperial Moff governing Krant, named Yittreas, withdrew his forces to the asteroid.

By the year 6 ABY, New Geddes had become the site of the primary garrison located on the terraformed asteroid, which had since been renamed Hanoon. The military strength at New Geddes was comprised of seasoned stormtroopers who had previously served on Krant.

Moff Yittreas's fortress is destroyed.

Moff Yittreas patiently waited, gradually terraforming and establishing colonies on Geddes through the use of slaves, while also reinforcing the remaining elements of the original base. Some years later, Organa made a return visit accompanied by Luke Skywalker. Together, they destroyed the Moff's Fortress and ultimately brought about his demise, thereby putting an end to the oppressive rule exerted from New Geddes.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of New Geddes occurred within the strategy guide created for the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. Its appearance was during the Princess Leia campaign. This campaign was also a part of the game's 2002 expansion, titled Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaigns.
