Yittreas served the Galactic Empire as a Moff.
Yittreas, a Human male, lived during the same time as Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin. Although Tarkin considered him a psychologically unstable individual, he also recognized Yittreas's administrative skills, granting him control over the Krant system. As an Imperial Moff and warlord, Yittreas ruled the system absolutely, without any oversight. To minimize the required garrison size, he executed thousands of Krantians for supposed 'political treason', earning him the moniker "Butcher of Krant."

During the events of the Krantian Civil War, various groups, including the Krantian resistance movement and Ghost Base, mobilized against the Empire. Yittreas gave Strike Force Alpha the order to seize Ghost Base. Irritated by the ongoing resistance, he commanded the capture of the towns of Peche and Theenes, but his plans were thwarted by Rebel emissary Leia Organa and the exiled Jedi [Echuu Shen-Jon](/article/echuu_shen-jon]. He soon lost control of Krant to the Rebel Alliance and escaped to the orbiting asteroid Geddes, which he proceeded to terraform into a military stronghold.
Years later, as the war neared its end, he established a base in New Geddes and took control of the Terraform Processor. Organa, accompanied by her brother, the future Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, returned to Hanoon and assisted the Hanoon resistance in reclaiming the processor. The "Butcher of Krant" was then hunted and killed at his Fortress, resulting in the conclusion of the conflict and the liberation of the planet.
Joe Paulino provided the voice for Yittreas in the 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds. His in-game portrait was modeled after Imperial Advisor Sim Aloo, although his character model was the same as that of an Imperial commander. He was initially mentioned in the game's strategy guide, and he also appeared in the game's 2002 expansion, Clone Campaigns.
A discrepancy exists regarding the timeline of his death. The game's DataBank entry indicates that the Krantian Civil War spanned a decade, while the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas states that the Battle of Hanoon occurred in 6 ABY, approximately six years after the war's commencement.
