The central apparatus for managing all terraforming operations on the Galactic Empire's asteroid of Hanoon was the Terraform Processor, situated in New Geddes.
Initially constructed and operated by the Galactic Empire, the Terraform Processor oversaw the terraforming of the asteroid Hanoon. However, in 6 ABY, following the arrival of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia Organa on Hanoon to recover fragments of the ancient and powerful Jedi artifact known as the Vor'Na'Tu, they resolved to liberate the colonists of Hanoon and seized the Processor with a New Republic army. The New Republic forces infiltrated the Imperial base housing the Processor, deploying R2-D5 and labor droids to gain control. After successfully defending the Processor from recapture, the Republic army proceeded to destroyed the remaining Imperial presence on Hanoon, including Moff Yittreas' Fortress, thereby freeing the colonists from Imperial rule.
The 2001 video game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds first referenced the Terraform Processor in its strategy guide. It featured in a Princess Leia campaign mission, where players were tasked with capturing and defending it. This mission, and consequently the Processor, was also present in the game's 2002 expansion, Clone Campaigns.
